Our product is only as good as our ingredients – that is why we pride ourselves on using the best ingredients available. To us, this means selecting higher quality oils, butters and waxes that are not just beneficial to skin but our planet.

As per FDA regulations, ‘Beauty from Ashes’ cannot make any health or medical claims about our finished product, but we can list known benefits of each ingredient used.

Activated Charcoal:
Activated charcoal is so versatile that it was once considered a “universal antidote”. Widely used in skin care, it’s best known for its deep cleansing abilities by removing impurities. Activated Charcoal can help clear up blemishes and acne by soaking up excess oil. This is a gentle exfoliant that helps minimize pores, while brightening skin.

Argan Oil:
A natural remedy that can beautify your skin, while also protecting it from the sun, Argan Oil has been used for centuries to treat a number of skin issues from dryness to psoriasis, rosacea and healing wounds.

Avocado Oil:

In addition to relieving inflammation cause by psoriasis and eczema, Avocado Oil also helps to nourish and moisturize the skin, while preventing and treating acne.

Beeswax:

Creating a natural protective layer on the skin to help retain moisture in the skin, Beeswax reduces inflammation and fights free radicals that can cause premature signs of aging.

Bentonite Clay:

Often used as a gentle exfoliate, Bentonite Clay naturally absorbs excess oils and is used to detoxify the skin. It has been shown to tighten skin, increase blood circulation and improve the appearance of pores. Known to improve blood circulation,

Castor Oil:

This versatile oil is used to help prevent wrinkles, fight acne, sooth and moisturize. Castor Oil is often used to reduce inflammation and supports the healing of a variety of skin issues, including wounds.

Cocoa Butter:

Decadent, rich, and an effective moisturizer for dry skin, Cocoa Butter is high in fatty acids, which are known to hydrate and nourish the skin, thus improving elasticity. Cocoa butter is a skin barrier protector that has been shown to help aid in the healing process of different skin issues.

Coconut Apricot Wax:

Proudly, the first company to bring Coconut Apricot candles to Arkansas, we selected this wax specifically because it is eco-friendly and sustainable. Specifically formulated for high-end candle making, coconut apricot wax has a cleaner burn, a longer burn time and a better scent retention than soy wax.

Coconut Oil:

One of the most popular oils in skin care, Coconut Oil is used in many skin care products because of its moisturizing properties, which has led to its reputation as an anti-aging oil. Coconut oil is considered antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral.

Colloidal Silver
:
Simultaneously, stimulating the immune system and helping the body heal, Colloidal Silver is widely used to heal wounds and other skin issues.

Dead Sea Salt:

With over 21 essential minerals, Dead Sea Salt has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties and has been found to help with detoxification and circulation, while alleviating joint pain and helping with respiratory issues.

Epsom Salt:

This mineral compound is made up of magnesium, sulfur, and oxygen and is well established as beneficial in reducing muscle soreness and relieve cramps.

Essential Oil(s):

Often used in aromatherapy and skin care products, Essential Oils are concentrated plant extracts that capture the essence of their source.

Goat’s Milk Powder:
Due to the high content of fatty acid, Goat’s Milk Powder is considered to be very hydrating and moisturizing. It is great for sensitive skin and repairs the skin’s barrier which helps prevent fine lines and wrinkles.

Hemp Oil:
Perfect for most skin types, Hemp Oil, can moisturize without clogging pores and has been known to help balance out oily skin, hydrating it and regulating the skin’s oil production.

Jojoba Oil:
Similar in structure to human oil, Jojoba Oil helps smooth dry skin and reduce flaking, making it beneficial for those that suffer from psoriasis. It is an excellent moisturizer for all skin types and has been found to improve skin elasticity and shine. Does not clog pores.

Kaolin Clay:
Used to absorb excess oil, Kaolin Clay is not only soothing, but it has been shown to reduce irritation and redness while also exfoliating the skin, leaving a smoother surface.

Magnesium:

Reportedly one of the most important minerals for the body., Magnesium is essential for healthy muscles. It is known to help regulate blood sugar levels, relax muscles, prevent joint pain, reduce migraine pain, help with anxiety and sleep, increase energy levels and naturally relieve leg cramps & back pain.

Mica Powder
:
Natural and non-toxic, this mineral is widely used as a colorant in soaps.

Olive Oil
:
Rich in vitamins and antioxidants, Olive Oil has been linked to improved skin moisturization, anti-aging effects, and relief from sun damage.

Organic Cane Sugar:

This gentle exfoliator removes dry skin cells for softer and smoother skin, helps to add moisture and combat skin aging.

Paprika
:
Paprika has numerous benefits beyond being a natural colorant in soap. Known to enhance the skin’s barrier function, it aids in reducing inflammation and boosting skin elasticity, while restricting oil production.

Pine Tar:

There’s a reason why pine tar soap has been around for hundreds of years! Known to help soothe eczema and psoriasis, as well as treat dry, itchy skin, it has been used to ease skin irritations from bug bites and poison ivy.

Raw Honey:

If you are not allergic or pregnant, all skin types can benefit by using Raw Honey. Between its natural antimicrobial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties, raw honey is also known for being therapeutic, making it good for treating various skin conditions.

Shea Butter:
Known to boost collagen production, Shea Butter is also an excellent moisturizer. Shea butter doesn’t clog pores and is rich in Vitamins A, E, and F – each playing a vital role in skin health, while the presence of palmitic acid and oleic make it an excellent source in helping anti-inflammatory issues.

Spirulina:
Spirulina can be used as a natural soap colorant. It is rich in minerals, protein, iron, copper, zinc, B vitamins (thiamin, riboflavin, niacin), potassium, magnesium, and chlorophyll, which has been known to reduce dark spots on the skin, help with healthy skin tone and fight off the bacteria that cause acne.

Sweet Almond Oil:
Gently and naturally cleanses, prevents blackheads and acne from developing, this amazing anti-aging agent is one of the most moisturizing oils that has been known to improve complexion and skin tone.

Tallow:
Tallow is a natural source of Vitamin A, Vitamin D3, Vitamin E, Vitamin K2, Vitamin B11, Choline and is rich in fatty acids. Tallow supports the protective barrier function of skin, not only improving moisture but healing it.

Turmeric:
Not only is turmeric a natural colorant in our soap but it has been known to treat acne breakouts, helps in healing atopic dermatitis, psoriasis and eczema, slows down skin aging and increases collagen production.

Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
Used in soap as a natural colorant and in our Dark Chocolate Clay Mask, Cocoa Powder is high in antioxidants, helps to combat acne and pimples and is known to reduce the formation of wrinkles by increasing the blood flow and moisture content of skin.

Vitamin C:
Vitamin C has the potential to boost collagen production, reduce the appearance of dark spots and redness, protect against sun damage and promote wound healing.

Vitamin E Powder:
Known as a very potent antioxidant, Vitamin E supports the health and appearance of skin, protecting it from UV damage and possibly slowing down the aging process by protecting and nourishing the skin barrier.
