Q: What makes ‘Beauty from Ashes’ soaps different from other soap companies?
A: Because what we put on our skin gets absorbed into our blood stream, we like to keep things simple. We are proud to use only premium oils and butters! We avoid industrial seed oils such as canola oil and don’t use palm or soybean oil – both are highly processed plant based oils that contribute to the deforestation of the Amazon and interrupt the endocrine system.
Q: Is ‘Beauty from Ashes’ earth friendly?
A: Beauty from Ashes strives to use ingredients that are environmentally friendly and sustainable. Your skin will feel the difference and the earth will too! Not only are our ingredients sustainably sourced but our labels are printed recycled paper using refillable ink cartridges, while our soap is wrapped with biodegradable shrink wrap.
Q: Does ‘Beauty from Ashes’ donated to charities?
A: Yes! Community involvement is important to us. In fact, it’s one of our goals. To date, we have donated over 800 bars of Sharon’s Caring Gentle Soap to cancer patients. Our dream is to one day be able to donate candles.
Q: Is Cold Process soap the same as Melt & Pour soap?
A: No, these two types of soap are very different from each other. Many Melt & Pour soaps include palm oil, preservatives and synthetic ingredients which help it to melt easily. Cold Process soap allows the artisan to hand select desired ingredients. Glycerin occurs naturally in CP soap and doesn’t need to be added. The only downfall with Cold Process soap is that the curing time is 4-6 weeks…which is long but so worth the wait!
Q: Does ‘Beauty from Ashes’ make custom batches?
A: Yes, we do. From scent, color, shape and ingredients, if you have a specific preference, we can help. We require that a minimum of ten (10) bars per scent to be purchased.
Q: Can ‘Beauty from Ashes’ make commemorative soap for special occasions?
A: Yes, ‘Beauty from Ashes’ offers services for those wanting to celebrate events and occasions with personalized soap bars and labels. We require a minimum order of $250, not including the cost of any specialty molds is required.
Q: Does ‘Beauty from Ashes’ have wholesale or private label accounts?

Q: Do you host soaping events or offer soap parties?
A: For safety reasons and insurance purposes, we do not offer this service.
Q: Are you licensed and insured?
A: Beauty from Ashes LLC is both licensed and insured.
Q: Can I reserve my favorite soap?
A: Yes, you can! Because we handcraft our soap in small batches, some soap scents sell out faster than others. Contact us and we can either put you on our waitlist.
Q: I live locally, can I pick up my order?
A: We are happy to make delivery arrangements for those living within the Bryant & Benton, Arkansas area.
Q: I don’t live in the United States but I want to place an order to you ship internationally?
A: All local packages will be shipped via USPS. Shipping is available within the continental United States, however, if you’re interested in shipping international, please contact ‘Beauty from Ashes’ and we will look into and charge appropriate shipping rates.
Q: If I don’t like the scent of the soap or candle, I selected, can I return it or get a refund?
A: Due to the nature of our products and for hygienic reasons ‘Beauty from Ashes’ cannot accept returns on soap. If you feel that your soap has been made incorrectly, please contact us.
Q: Can you tell me more about the ingredients used?
All our products are palm oil and canola free. We take pride in using premium ingredients such as; olive oil, coconut oil, Shea butter and cocoa butter as the base of our soap. Colorants range from different types of clay to spices to mica powders. Scents will be listed as either essential oil, fragrance oil or a custom blend of both. If you have any concerns, allergies or questions, please contact us.
We use clean burning Coconut Apricot Creme wax in all of our candles. All candles are dye-free, phthalate and paraben free. Fragrance and Essential Oil blends are considered to be “triple scented” or 10% of the wax weight as per IFRA regulations.
Q: I notice that one of my bars is slightly heavier than the other, why is that?
A: Each batch of soap is handcrafted, poured and sliced, so every bar is unique. It’s common practice to use the lightest bar of soap in the batch as the listed weight. Not only does it make labeling much easier, but it also reflects any extra water weight that is lost with further curing. You might get a bar in the mail that weighs more than the listed amount but you will never get a bar that weighs less than the listed weight. It’s a WIN-WIN!
Q: Why are your products more expensive than store bought?
A: Unlike box stores, we are a family-owned small business. We use quality ingredients and candle vessels that are expensive and make our products in small batches to help ensure that high standards are met.
Our company was the first to bring Coconut Apricot wax candles to the state of Arkansas and thought it was fitting to pair this luxury wax with DreamVessels – an American company that is the world’s premier designer candle company.
Q: How long will one bar of ‘Beauty from Ashes’ soap last?
A: On average and with proper care, one bar will last approximately one (1) month. We suggest using a soap rack to help keep your bar dry in between uses, thus prolonging your soap experience.
Our Candles burn between 45-110 hours, depending on size and candle care. We suggest trimming the wick to 1/4 inch and once 1/2 inch near the bottom, to stop using due to an increased risk of fire.
